افعال حال ساده- Past Simple

1) ساختار کلی

  • مثبت: Subject + V₂ (فعل گذشته)
    مثال: She visited the archive yesterday.

  • منفی: Subject + did not / didn’t + base verb (مصدر بدون to)
    مثال: They didn’t attend the meeting.

  • سوالی: Did + subject + base verb?
    مثال: Did he finish the report?

  • پاسخ کوتاه: Yes, she did. / No, they didn’t.

توجه مهم: در جملات سوالی و منفی از فعل گذشته (V₂) استفاده نمی‌کنیم — به‌جای آن فعل کمکی did می‌آید و فعل اصلی به شکل ساده می‌نشیند. (اشتباه رایج: Did you went? صحیح: Did you go?)

2) کاربردها (با مثال)

  1. کاری که در گذشته تمام شده و زمان آن مشخص است
    I met the ambassador on Monday.

  2. توالی اتفاقات در گذشته (برای روایت داستان)
    She opened the envelope, read the letter, and burst into tears.

  3. عادت‌های گذشته که تمام شده‌اند
    He smoked for ten years but stopped in 2015.

  4. حقایق یا وضعیت‌های گذشته
    The company operated under a different name until 1998.

  5. روایت نتایج یا اقدامات در گزارش‌ها و آزمایش‌ها (خصوصاً در بخش روش‌ها و نتایج)
    The researchers measured the temperature every hour and recorded anomalies.

3) شکل‌گیری افعال

افعال باقاعده (regular)

  • افزودن -ed: work → worked

  • قواعد کوچک:

    • drop e + d: love → loved

    • y → ied (consonant+y): study → studied

    • تکرار حرف آخر در تک‌هجاییِ conso + vowel + conso: stop → stopped

افعال بی‌قاعده (irregular)

  • فرم گذشته را باید حفظ کنید: go → went, be → was/were, have → had, do → did, make → made, see → saw, write → wrote, drive → drove, take → took, think → thought
    (فهرست کامل طولانی است؛ برای وبسایت می‌توانم جدول جامع قرار دهم.)

4) حالت مجهول (Passive) در گذشته‌ی ساده

  • ساختار: was/were + past participle (V₃)
    مثال: The treaty was signed by both parties last June.

5) تلفظ پایان ‌-ed

سه حالت:

  • /ɪd/ وقتی فعل به /t/ یا /d/ ختم شود: wanted /ˈwɒntɪd/

  • /t/ وقتی صدای انتهایی بی‌صدا غیر از /t/ باشد: worked /wɜːkt/

  • /d/ وقتی صدای انتهایی صوتی غیر از /d/ باشد: called /kɔːld/

6) اشتباهات متداول و اصلاح

  • اشتباه: I didn’t went to class. → درست: I didn’t go to class.

  • اشتباه: Did she went? → درست: Did she go?

  • اشتباه با زمان‌بندی: استفاده از present perfect به‌جای past simple وقتی زمان مشخص است.
    مثال نادرست: I have visited Paris yesterday. → درست: I visited Paris yesterday.

7) عبارات زمان (Signal words)

yesterday, last week/month/year, in 2010, two days ago, when, then, at 5 p.m., on Monday, in the 19th century

مثال

  • After the auditors uncovered the discrepancies, the CEO resigned amid mounting public pressure.
  • The committee reviewed the evidence, reached a unanimous decision, and published its findings the following day.
  • Despite repeated warnings, the factory continued operations until inspectors shut it down last November.
  • When the team analyzed the dataset, they discovered an unexpected correlation that challenged the original hypothesis.
  • The council demolished the outdated buildings and replaced them with a mixed-use development within two years.
  • She prepared the manuscript, submitted it to three journals, and received two rejection letters before acceptance.
  • By the end of the season the players improved markedly and the coach celebrated an unprecedented winning streak.
  • The government introduced sweeping reforms in 2012, and university enrollment increased significantly thereafter.
